I think you don't understand how the electoral system works in Canada?

You see, only people living in Papineau, Quebec are voting for Justin Trudeau. The rest of us vote for local representatives we believe represent us and our values the best or for the party we believe has the most policies we agree with.

In fact, in Richmond, in my riding, my views don't align much at all with the Conservative Party, but the Liberal candidate (Peschisolido) is an asshole and the Conservative candidate Kenny Chiu actually seems like a genuinely helpful and super organized guy who puts out regular info pamphlets and invites you to write back to him with suggestions on what you would like to see him do, so I voted for him and he ended up winning.

Granted I did so in complete comfort of knowing the Conservatives wouldn't win a federal majority, it would have been a much tougher decision if I had thought the Liberal party wouldn't win federally........ but my priority order goes Local Representation > Federal Party > Leader of said Party... as in the leader of the party matters least to me which is, honestly, how it probably should be. It matters some, but not to the point where I vote for anything else just to get rid of someone.
