I replied to another one of your posts that was along the same lines. I posted it, then thought about it long and hard. I ended up deleting it, because there's nothing worse than starting an exchange that doesn't solve anything. Bad feelings and whatnot.

Buddy, we get it. We all know you don't give two shits about the elderly. You've said it so many times. However, that problem has been, for the most part, addressed. Most elderly have been fully vaccinated. Long ago, I may add. I hope what you say doesn't come back to bite you. It doesn't affect you, so you dismiss the issue. If the tables were turned and young people were dying and suffering by the hundreds, you'd be singing a different tune.

It's human nature not to care about the suffering of others that have nothing to do with you or affect you directly, or indirectly, for that matter. Try to see things from other people's perspective. The victims of this pandemic and their families have, or are going through, a lot of pain and suffering. Nobody asked for this.

Also, a lot of sacrifices have been made by many. Just hearing stories about business owners who have lost everything breaks my heart. People's dreams and hopes wiped out in a matter of months. After all that has been sacrificed, the restrictions weren't worth it or necessary?

I've said this before, most of the seniors I know would gladly sacrifice their lives if it meant the world would be a better place. Not sure if it's a generational thing or not, but in my generation we cared about the well being of our fellow man. Even strangers. Our generation wasn't great, and we fucked up so many times, but is this generation any better?

This is not a personal attack on you. You posted stuff that really bothers the hell out of me. I'm making it sound like a generational thing. Maybe it isn't. Every time someone posts stuff like, "This pandemic should be called Boomer Remover," it makes me wonder.

You are young, my friend, and I used to be much like you. More than I would like to admit. After seeing all kinds of shit over a lifetime, maybe.............

Anyway. I'm sorry if this offends you. It's not meant to. At my age, nothing should bother me. Just smell the roses and let the young people do their thang.

After all that, it was just an age thing. Well, more power to the young. I will go back to my little corner........ got it off my chest and it feels weirdly good.

I've said stupid things before myself on RS. I hope when I got called out, I admitted to everyone that it was a dumb thing to say. Maybe even <gulp> apologize. Maybe the heat, covid, and last week's full moon is getting to me.
