^I wish that was true.
Just came back from the cabin on Lillooet Lake.
Strawberry Point had the worst mosquitoes I've seen in 15+ years going out to the cabin.
The rapid heatwave created a massive glacier melt that has essentially flooded the lake. Water level is extremely high with stagnant water, this created the worst mosquito apocalypse I've ever seen there.
It was fucked, literal clouds of those fuckers. We could only hit the lake twice in the whole week there, each time was a bum rush from the banks on floaties into the middle of the lake to escape them.
My ass cheeks look like I caught some type of STD, shit was stressful.
If this is the future of climate change with the combination of early fire bans, camping/cabin life is going to be shit going forward.
