I'm using an Olympia Cremina and Ponte Vecchio Export lever machines. Both produce amazing espresso like no other, even on Starbucks and McDonald's beans.
The temperature control bit - you get used to it and learn to deal with it over time. I use the Rocket sometimes only and don't miss a pump machine.
