Granted it's been a few years since I was articling but freshly minted CPAs were high 50s to low 60s at a firm.
And last I heard big 4 were planning on lowering the starting salary for first years to mid 30s lol
... More realistically it sounds like dude isn't an accountant but is just going through the process to get his letters while working at something else
