I think they smashed it outta the park with the hybrid option and it's torque boost. Now that it seems to be in the same field as the competition for hp/tq and mpg's it'll be interesting to see how much more of the marketshare they'll consume. It's not like Toyota to put out stuff that breaks so here's hoping that the new powertrain stands the test of time and holds up to the reliability reputation that the brand is known for.

Coincidently, I have a 2021 Platinum due to arrive in about a week and I'll be happy to have the V8 send-off year to daily while watching how this new gen performs. Picking up a 2024/25 after they've sorted the bugs out and addressed customer complaints seems like a solid plan.

The biggest complaint will be pricing. Although, any of the Big 3 have their fully loaded half tons in the $80k-$90K+ range anyway, so the days of a fully loaded Tundra for $64k are gone I'm thinking.

I think they did a great job all in all with only a few weird quirky and perhaps gaudy choices. Will be interesting to see how production goes with all the chip shortage talk; I'd hate to hear that it's a year long waiting list.
