They will repair/replace the dash piece as long as you notify within a day or so of delivery, call them a week later they'll just (rightfully so) ask you why you didn't notify them right away.
Also, motortrend says 87 is fine for the Veloster. So stop worrying about it and use your choice of fuel once it's at half a tank, or add octane booster.
