You'd be surprised on the amount of people who don't. I had a coworker who drove from Chilliwack to Vancouver Cambie area for work everyday. That's easily 2.5 hours of driving time a day on apprentice wages. I've also heard about the company taking jobs in Squamish when most employees live in Surrey/Langley area lol.
For me though, I'd rather live comfortably in a nicer 2 bed 2 bath condo with reasonable monthly payment and a meh car versus living paycheck to paycheck with a fancy house and car. The amount stress is just insane doing paycheck to paycheck...
