The amount of pro Trump bumper stickers I see to, and from, the way to work is staggering. People love the guy for some baffling reason. Biden is discussed in hushes and whispers in the county I work in.
I work in a heavily Republican district. How heavily, you ask? Well, the scramble during election season isn't Republican vs Democrat, its Republican vs Republican during the candidate primary because no Democrat runs for many of the available positions here.
A lot of the campaign signs say "CONSERVATIVE Republican" or "PROVEN Conservative" or something like that. Its a race to the right.
*Edit: I forgot to mention... one of the signs is written in Comic Sans
One of the candidates running in the Republican primary for one of the positions here
ran on the platform that he would eliminate his own position to "Save the taxpayers money" by reducing government waste. He promised he was gonna put himself out of a job. And guess what? He fucking WON. Because there doesn't seem to be any registered OPPOSITION to this guy, hes gonna win by default and then will have to either 1) prove himself to be a liar by NOT eliminating the position or 2) do the insane thing and eliminate the position.
This county made the news a few months ago when they passed a redistricting action to cleave the only Democrat-leaning district in half and dilute the blue-leaning voting population from a single district to two, where their votes are worth less. Folks are voting against their own interests because weak people follow what they believe to be strong leaders. Trump is just that kind of weak leader.
