I ain't not electrical tech, but my condo keyfob got water in. Corroded the battery causing a battery leak, which damaged the circuit board. It works as a fob to access door, but won't open the garage gate.
My dad in law told me to submerge the circuit board in 99% alcohol, but when I look at the board the battery acid ate some of the connecting component lines that run around, so even if I can clean this board, seems like it's a lost cause at this point? E.g. If I press on the fob, the light stays solid which it usually just blinks once. Definitely some connection issues messed up.
Looks like I'm out $80 to get a replacement.
