This whole concept of just like accepting this as being “Ok” is so bizarre? Lol.. you guys just think Trudeau is doing such a bang up job that all this just gets a pass?

You 100% cannot say definitively this would have happened under any other govt. because any other govt. almost certainly would have seen the writing on the wall and enacted changes far earlier than this one did. Federal pressure and action on lending, Foreign ownership, vacant homes, etc. would have almost certainly slowed or stopped the non stop explosive growth that’s happened what, 3 separate times under the Liberals?

The liberals loved the gravy train and this concept of boomers lining their pockets with gains so the strain on social security became less and less until there was this tipping point where they realized now no one can afford shit.

Oh well, I’m not worried, I’ll be fine. Sucks for other people though.

Crazy the budget hasn’t balanced itself yet, who would have seen that coming
There's not many stable developed country in the world right now that hasn't seen an explosive amount of growth in the RE sector. It's not great but many countries have used up their ammo fighting the 2008 recession. Nvm that what policies would you suggest that would lower the RE prices in Vancouver and Toronto that won't disrupt the development of the economy? Ban immigration? Ban foreign workers/students? Ban foreign ownership? Data have shown that real non-resident buyers make a very small part of the market. No one said Trudeau is doing a bang up amazing job but none of us believe that any other choice have made a difference. Trudeau aligns with my other desires such as not being a back-ass-wards country on issues like denying women's rights.

You also cannot 100% say that this wouldn't have happened under a different govt, so your counter argument is invalid in the same way. Again this "gravy train" started under Harper's conservative govt WITH A MAJORITY so this argument leans more in my favor than yours.

Covid has kind of fucked everyone up, surprise. All your arguments like to conveniently leave out the elephant in the room to make a point.
