Manual tranny swaps are like mass shootings.
Everyone is shocked when it happens, the person who does it turns out to be nuts, the neighbours all say the guy was such a quiet and nice person, when you open up their garage you find all kinds of other transmissions in there, and while most people say we should ban this shit all we do is offer our thoughts and prayers.
There's also a cluster of people who insist that the solution is that we need to get more people to drive manual cars. We need to teach janitors, teachers, postal workers how to work a clutch.
