Test drilling
Setting up new sites
Hire staff to drill, when there are no staff to hire
Transport that crude
Process it
Transport it again
Sell it
Clean the tanks that store it
New environmental safety policies (through all the steps above)
and literally every single person associated with that process, their wages have gone up, every year, for the last 10 years
Don't forget maintenance of all that equipment, legal, etc
