Do what your wife wants. Especially if she is going to be doing most of the childcare during the first year while on parental leave.

If she needs a bigger car because she's the one loading the kid in and out and going to the grocery store, do it.

If she wants a higher end stroller because she's using it mostly, do it.

Just do what she wants. This is the way.

(For the record it was me who wanted the high end stroller. I'll never buy a high end new car so I was happy to buy a high end new stroller. It was fun researching and testing the Bugaboo vs Uppababy vs Nuna, etc. I enjoy pushing it around. No regrets.)
