My guess is -- the long weekend meant at least some of the truckers took time off instead of working to do deliveries. This past long weekend seemed esp bad with gas stations running out of regular, after which they get raped by cheapa$$es like me when they start selling their high octane gas at 87 octane price.
Personally, I still don't understand why it is better to sell high octane gas at low octane prices. But hey, since I am benefiting from this from time to time, I am not going to complain.
