Every test I've seen are done sub 0 degrees either on the East Coast or somewhere cold and dry.
I've never seen tests done on the slushy/wet/icy type of snow we deal with out here, which is extremely different.

I agree with that. I've had 3 different sets of snow tires over the years and none of them stood out to handle Vancouver snow particularly well.
