I fill my mower with a little 10L can that gets filled up 2 blocks from my house and it lasts all summer. Which also isn't remotely the same as hauling 100L or so across town. I don't need a decade worth on hand lol.

Which would make them outside of the car and bolted in place. If you're in a big enough collision to break it free and punch it into the cabin you're probably already dead.
