I let her choose the shape, band material, size and band design which I think really helps narrow it down to finding the perfect one.

ended up going with Aaron from diamondshopper/redflagsdeals (I browse that website multiple times a day and never thought about looking there, before reading up a few pages on this thread)
after doing my own research on the 4cs and everything else, I think I made a good choice going with Aaron.]
his prices seem to be better then bluenile/jamesallen + most places and the quality and service is there.
