So I know a guy who has literally HUNDREDS of charges, grew up with the guy he’s still my buddies neighbor. The guy has, in no particular order, stabbed a cab driver, stabbed an undercover cop, been charged with armed Robbery for robbing a cab driver, DOZENS of assault charges, DOZENS of drug charges. Most recently he was dropped off by a cab driver and he tried to rob the cab driver with a gun, the cab driver drove off and called the cops, the cops came and then entered a 10 hour stand off before throwing flash bangs and smoke grenades through the windows and using a robot to knock down the door.

He saw my buddy the other day and he’s like “heh.. all the charges got stayed or else I mighta actually seen some time”

This is the system we live in. He’s not of means, he has no money for decent lawyers, he gets off -every- charge

If true, that's repulsive - but why is he getting off on every single one?
