Also by leaving the edges, it allows the installer more room to manipulate the film. A good installer will leave some extra to wrap the edge around - you can barely tell that my car was PPFed because Ken made sure to tuck everything that he could to hide the edges well.
I think Badhobz and the other guys who saw my car at the stock n noob meet were trying to find the edges and they could only find the area around the headlights.
