The whole space thing is annoying. I don't get how in Europe it's a mid size and great family car cause it's not. I drove a friend in my F80 and he's 6'1 and he had to push the seat all the way back and still wasn't the most comfortable. Are everyone in Europe under 6'? There's no way a 6' person would fit in the front seat with a car seat in the back.

People in Europe have to deal with way less room on the street and in parking spots. They are just more efficient in terms of what they're bringing and how they share space. A 3 series is considered a large car there - when I was in Italy I saw a lot of Up! and Polo and that class of car as a family car with 4 people in it.
You just squish everything in. Your legs are touching the dash. You don't manspread like you do in NA.
Much like what JDMDreams say, in Italy you also park by feel. You back up until you bump your neighbours and then go forward etc. Need a little more space? Just push the other car a little bit.
This is how they park in Rome.
