You just let your asset rot away.
Most people in these situations can defer property taxes, also most do not have a mortgage either. But of course a hoarder shut-in would never consider going to the bank and pulling some equity out of their home in order to fix the roof etc. they’d rather pay some family friend crack head to throw a tarp over.
My wife’s family on both sides have people like this and I think they are tired of me because all I do is call them out lol
