That's actually a coach house instead of a laneway (there's a duplex in front) but I don't know how they managed to get the approval to do that b/c it's zoned as RS-1 (SFH+Laneway or Duplex) and it's just a standard-ish lot of 33x124.
The duplex I lived in was technically a triplex b/c there was a coach house in the back as well the garages for the duplex were part of the coach house.
