I got the DSG on my sportwagen before only because the wife might accidently need to drive it. I regret it everyday. That and they didnt make the sportwagen in highline trim with the 6 speed + 4motion in 2017.

The Golf R was built/tuned/designed with the DSG in mind. The manual is basically the GTI manual... it's weak, and not especially nice to shift. The DSG was the better transmission for the Golf R. Plus it's stupid fast and savage on launches. The fast Golf R guys at auto-x or track are mostly running DSGs, and tuned to ~400whp on stock DSG clutch. The manual can't handle that without an upgraded clutch.
tofu, autohold might have to do with the e-brake? Might be that the e-brake actuator was a little sticky.
