A Cayman isn't necessarily more fun than an S2k to drive under normal circumstances. In fact, there are some aspects of the car that makes it less entertaining than an S2k or Miata when it is only being driven on the street.

The most enjoyable aspect of an MR is the way it responds to directional changes because the vehicle's weight are already all concentrated in the middle of the chassis. When you ask the car to turn, it just turns, and it does so with an intuitiveness that you won't find in any other drivetrain orientation. But when you drive normally on the street, this isn't really a trait that you'll experience a lot, so you don't really get to enjoy the biggest strength of the car in normal driving.

But yeah, because of the weight concentration, when the car let go, it just let go -- you don't have nearly as much time to react as you would in other drivetrain formats, and it is less predictable in how the car would behave when it loses traction.

But if you crave for a Cayman / Porsche / or whatever halo brand that tickles your fancy, I'd say you should go for it. Unlike the housing market, it is certainly a goal that is more easily within reach lol~
