For those who have been following, it was pretty clear that the Conservatives were gonna lose (to the NDP). It was just a matter of how badly the lost was gonna be.
Throughout the election campaign, I have no idea why the Conservative leader was so resistant to the idea of proceeding with the landfill search for the several missing women's bodies. The writing was on the wall that Manitobans wanted the search to be done, costs be damned. But she just kept refusing to do it, despite subject matter experts saying that it could be done safely.
And then she still had to do a distasteful attack ad to reiterate her refusal to do the search. She was literally digging her own grave at that point.
IMO, the NDP leader's budget math is not going to add up -- I just don't see how they would be able to deliver a balanced budget while fulfilling the big ticket items in their campaign promises. But that'll be a story for another day. For now, it seemed pretty obvious that Manitobans just wanted to get rid of the distasteful Conservatives.
