Don't know what's going on in the lawyer's case - maybe they just aren't interested in owning - but in the latter case she said it's been hard to save the down payment.

The guy I bought my place (detached, East Van) from? He was a janitor for the City of Vancouver... times have changed.
My friends clearing $300 - 450K. GP + Sales manager at a dealer. They're renting in Oly Village both for $4k/month. They rent out their units in BBY. Their current unit they live in sells for $1.6 - 2M.Good tradeoff imo. $48K / $2M = 2.4% Gross return before strata, pptax, interest.

Ultimate bachelor dating combo though. Nice view of city + big balcony + big 2br. Plus new 992 911s so they can go 30KM/hour on cambie bridge. Every week they can host an event or go out to find some garden tools to bring home!
