Yeah that's a good word to describe it. And not just liberating in the sense that you can now haul whatever you want, heave whatever you want into the back with reckless abandon (and then responsibly strapping it down of course), because yeah I agree that is all liberating.
It's not just that.
It's the fact that you're not longer contained by pavement. That's a feeling of freedom that I never got, taking my S2000 and the R6 through mountain twisties. It's about knowing that you could go wherever the heck you want. Wherever you see, you can go. Not just veering off the beaten path: making your own path. Literally and metaphorically. Nothing holds you back.
Think of the first time you rode a bike. The first time you drove a car. It's like that: it feels like a whole new level of freedom.
Also, parallel parking is now easy mode because curbs are no longer a thing.
Remember how we had to crawl across speed bumps diagonally or else car would scrape? Now you don't even have to slow down for speed bumps; you don't even feel them. Unless you want to, but it's your choice!
