grocery shopping should never be done at one store unless you are too rich to care about prices. now i'd never drive even 2 minutes to save $1 on an item, but i'd just modify my shopping list and the ingredeints i use in recipes based on what's on sale or reasonably priced. if celery is $2.99/lb then im not buying it, same for $2.99/lb onions, $3 cucumbers, or $5.99 cauli.

im really lucky to live across the street from a small mom and pops grocer that has some of the best prices i've seen anywhere. $0.99/lb celery for months straight, $0.99 cilantro, $0.99/lb peppers, $3.99 10lb russets. bananas are at the most $0.68/lb and often cheaper. a few weeks ago i even bought 2 heads of organic cauli for $2.

if you complain abt prices and go to superstore then just don't buy the stuff that's outrageously priced. occasionally i go to no frills and i even find their stuff to be pretty expensive overall
