Those of us who grew up in more "Westernized" households where the expectation was to GTFO by age 19 would have a different opinion about having their parents live with them at old age.
At lot of older folks are having to deal with that very reckoning, hence you're seeing more and more need for access to affordable care homes, or care homes in general.
You can't have your cake and eat it too.
