It's the new ones, the 2.4 engine.
My friend has a BRZ from new right when it came out, he's done a few oil changes and there's always some RTV on the pickup.
I suppose one remedy would be to take the pan off and remove all the RTV and then re-do it all.
He's tracked his car a couple times too, only finding about the oil starvation problems (not related to RTV, there's also problems on cornering with oil sloshing away from the pickup) after the fact but he must be pretty lucky between the 2 problems to not have had an issue yet... he's scared to continue tracking it though, which is kinda lame cuz it's sort of the point of having it haha
