Literally no one I know of the 5-6 people with vacation properties rent them out.
Varying levels of wealth, some wouldn’t -ever- consider having strangers in their property, some could probably still use the money and still don’t.
Again, who tf wants dirty strangers in their home. You can say they are good people etc. you’ve got no fucking clue what they are doing in your place. Making another 50k over the span of 4-5 years isn’t worth the peice of mind lost from people bucking rails and smoking darts in your family home.
