Started a new contract gig last month so I'm getting to know my coworkers. One guy in particular I see often at the office. Struck up a conversation today with him.

Me: Sorry, not on me. What's up?
Coworker: My car is acting up again
Me: What's wrong with it?
Coworker: Doesn't start. It's been an on and off problem
Me: What car is it?
Coworker: I'm not sure? It's my dad's old car. It's from the 90s
Me: New battery?
Coworker: Pretty new, yeah
Me: Hmm, maybe check the alternator? Are the interior lights flickering?
Coworker: OH YES! Maybe it is that. I've taken it to a few shops here and there but nothing really fixed the problem
