I've been aware of this sentiment literally since high school and never understood it... you succeed or get wealthy in Canada and it's like you're a damn criminal or people narrow their eyes and wonder what rules you broke or who you stepped on. You see it in banks when you take out even like $5k and the tellers are like... "Whoa money bags stop the presses what you need that for? State a reason?" I used to buy/sell a lot of low dollar value cars and lots of times I'd be depositing anywhere from $5k to $7500 cash and get the wide eyes like whoa whoa whoa wait a hot minute here... like fuck really? You're surprised about 4 figures in a city with $600k 1 bedroom condos?
Meanwhile in USA people are doing well and even poors are like whoa good for you how did you do it maybe I can do the same blah blah blah
