I did fit testing for asbestos abatement before, there is almost nothing over the counter that prevents it. A sock over your mouth would do about the same, but then again you’re wearing a mask everywhere you go then.

I welcome you to join me in emergency the next time someone shits themselves. The N95 ABSOLUTELY negates the smell in 95% of cases. There has only ever been one patient we've endured where even the N95 wasn't enough to keep the smell out and that was an EXTREME case.
