He said his friends and family are in North America. Can't move to the US as they tax global income + tax on principal residence over a certain amount + inheritance tax over a certain amount. I'd argue Seattle might be a good choice, no state income tax but high COL and they introduced a capital gains tax that made Jeff Bezos run away to Florida.
