I honestly don't remember, but we got it as a gift. Was terrific until it started not brewing properly (amount was always off) so I descaled and cleaned the heads with soft bristle toothbrush. It worked fine for a few days, then same problem came back. Now it only brews espresso shot amount, doesn't matter what capsule I insert. The carafe pod barely brews a cup of coffee.
