Just go walk down Denman or North Van you can't throw a rock without hitting a Persian Restaurant
Khaghan, Gilaneh, Zeitoon are some of my regulars. Some are conveniently located in both cities
"Israeli" food is basically the same Lebanese food, unless you're talking about Kosher cuisine which is yeah not great. There's also a bunch of Michelin starred Israeli restaurants on the East Coast of the US.
