Iran's little retaliatory missile attack is the equivalent of your buddy punching you in the arm and you having to get your "get back" without looking like a pussy.

The US and even Jordan are setting up their military on high alert in the Middle East now after the Iranians fired 180 missiles into Israel. IDF confirmed about 180 missiles were fired into Israel.
The Americans are sending more soldiers for deployment. Jordanian military is on high alert.
The big question is how will Israel respond to the missile attacks.
The IDF will not let this go.
They don't think this missile attack is the equivalent of a guy punching you in the arm. -sounds more like a jab in the face if we are using hand to hand combat analogy.
If the Iranians think that Israel is gonna let this go with just some verbal threats, they are gonna be mistaken.
It's up to the Americans to talk to the Israeli PM and his security cabinet in order to determine what kind of military response would be adequate enough to respond to Iraq without escalating the conflict even more.

Miller echoed National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in stating the US will coordinate with Israel on its response to the attack on Israel, calling it “a significant escalation.” He also pledged that there would be consequences.
“Of course there must be consequences for Iran for this attack. We’ve made clear that there must be consequences. I’m not going to get into what those consequences are today, but they are things on which we will be coordinating with our Israeli counterparts,” Miller said at a press briefing Tuesday.
