It lets you be 30 mins to Whistler without having to deal with the peasant traffic from Van getting in your way. If you've got a $15M house you're getting groceries delivered and you're not going into town for much. It's not for everyone but for someone with the right hobbies it's a primo spot.

Not really, then you have worse winters and driving 2 hours just gets you to Terrace instead of Vancouver lol. 3 hours gets you to YVR and off to anywhere in the world.
