^ they wouldn't even give me a quote for my car lol. My Jeep was over $2k for equivalent coverage to what I paid $900 for with ICBC.
One of the big perks to ICBC and something I would gladly pay extra for, even though I'm not, is that they have to insure everyone. I don't want to end up like my buddies in Quebec and the US that have had private companies refuse to insure their cars because they're RHD/old/sporty/anything other than basis traffic.

iirc injuries cost more than vehicle repairs do.
You can try to go private for your non-basic coverage if you want to though.
