Back to my original point, the only comparable that’s ever been brought up is Alberta and how “expensive” it is relative to BC. Whereas other provinces throughout Canada have both the ICBC model as well as the mixed private model, and most of these places pay less.

But you still aren't telling us which province pays less? Saskatchewan? Of course it's lower, the liability of driving there is 1/30th of what it is in most of BC. There are 8 people in the province, chances of an accident are far lower. I've tried to get Hagerty coverage for my e30 here and it's $2500 a year. In Alberta it would be $800. There are other factors than just public/private. They have people doing math for these things. That's far more relevant than looking at what bob in Saskatchewan has through intact for his 1994 f250 compared to your ICBC quote for east van.
