If it is sour, that usually means it is under-extracted (water not hot enough, not enough steep time, etc).
The acidic McCafe coffee probably means their coffee maker isn't hot enough, or they rushed the brew, or it needs cleaning etc.

Just stopped by Tim's and the coffee tastes like motor oil today. What are the appropriate descriptors for that kind of flavor??
