2024 update
Company got back to me too late in 2023, and the "permanent" visa took several months to process.
Anyways, im back in NZ for the same company. Showed up monday morning, picked up the work truck same day afternoon, then a personal car in evening. 3000$ shitbox life for me.
Was expecting the airport immigration to grill me with questions, all they cared about was if was bringing in new tools for resale..... Spent less time than when i return to canada.....
Economy seems to have taken a bigger hit here than canada, they chopped off quite a large section of their install team. Interest rate rises really slowed down peoples spending.

Insurance was 219$(comp only) for the year lol, they got rid of transfer tax (was 7$), gas is still 2.5$/L
