You know when Trump was in office the first time 2016-2019? I went alone and drove my ass around rural Utah and Texas for 3 weeks- the reddest of the red. You'll be perfectly fine in Washington, California, Hawaii, NYC, etc ie. the places most people go.
Ironically the only times I was racially slurred in the US was from some redneck trucker in Bellingham and a homeless black guy in Atlanta.

I agree, some people are being somewhat ridiculous.
I'm living here in southern Texas, and I've been getting into random political conversations with the random locals down here on the regular. It's fine. Most people are either stupid, misinformed, or don't care all that much.
Most people are more worried about their day-to-day lives as opposed to throwing on a pillowcase and looking for violence. The path of least resistance is still a salient one for most, even if you're a racist fuck, you likely don't care enough to bring on physical conflict to yourself over it.
If you want to vote with your pocketbook go for it, don't spend money in this silly country, but if you plan to visit, I wouldn't worry about your overall safety.
