I have a Latino machismo-type buddy (these guys love Trump because fuck women).

I asked him how do you reconcile being a Canadian, complaining about the price of everything, while supporting a guy who will directly affect the price of goods in Canada by way of tariffs.

His answer was -- "Well he's a smart businessman, he's using it as leverage and he looks out for his own people, it's not his job to put Canada first, that's the job of our PM."

I could only laugh and shake my head on that level of mental contortionist skills. People don't seem to carry any core values or connect their policy wants with any logical reasoning.

Canadian "patriots" who will happily jump for joy at the idea of Canada becoming an American feudal state.

We live in such a bizarro world nowadays, nothing makes sense, people's preferences are no longer easily predictable, I think that's a major reason why polling has been so wildly inaccurate over the past decade.
