lolol okok, I guess the most memorable
1) FOB comes in to buy brand new hatchback, the full sale process was done in mandarin. It was a cash deal... on delivery day, guy comes in and was hoping to drive the car home on a finance plan with $0 down. Even though we spent 2 hours negotiating the cash out the door price prior. (eventually needed a co-signer since he didn't have history)
2) Comes in to buy new SUV, after trade in was like $30Kish to be paid out... on delivery day, comes in with cash cash... We dont have a bill counter, so it was like 2 sales managers + me + 2 business managers, 5 of us counting cash in the office for like 45min
3) This one is a doozey - just to show how much shit can go wrong...
This is the only time ever that a car fails PDI that I know of at our dealer since I started AND have overspray
- we win over the customer from white rock because our car is 1 week early
- car comes in, fails PDI, needed a new transmission part (Monday)
- part needed 2 weeks, but somehow gets here in 3 days like over night from Korea style (Wednesday)
- service promised to finish (Thursday)
- nothing is done at EOD Thursday, promises Friday
- nothing is done at EOD Friday, promises Saturday
- tech working on the car isn't even scheduled to work on Saturday
- Client comes in Saturday bitching (and he has every right to) saying the whole point buying from us was timeline, and now its been a week, might as well White Rock (gives $500 service credit to move things along, promised him early next week)
- Tuesday car is done, sent to detail Tuesday 1pm, car is being picked up 4pm.
- Detail calls, car has overspray on the hood and front fenders
- It was a super super super dark blue car with white dots all over the front
- Client shows up to pick car up, sees the fucked up paint, but really need car, so drives home and we promise his to bring his car back next week Tuesday and we will give him courtesy car. We need his car for only 48 hours to fix paint
- Next week comes, car stays at the autobody shop for the next 3 weeks (first it was color match, then it was paint adhesion) with the client constantly calling me and my manager every day.
I feel super bad for the client, I am sure he has written off Hyundai as a brand for his entire life and this was his first car ever lolol.... but how can so much shit go wrong on 1 single car
Hahahaha, and the worst part is, the client is actually kinda nice, his parents were total asshats though, but given the situation I will give them a pass, as per his dad - its literally broken promises over broken promises over broken promises lolol
