That's fair and I understand where you were coming from - I'd be bummed too buying another Apple Watch unexpectedly.
Regarding my return policy, I will generally suck up the cost if the item fails from negligence, and return/exchange the product if fails from normal operation during its useful shelf life.
Like Honda said Costco will probably take your watch back, so just be careful with the new one (which I'm sure you will from this incident
