Yes, they are stronger, and yes it would hurt us if we just shut up shop, but any claim that they can just walk all over us is nonsense. They only way they can get a major victory is if we allow ourselves to be divided, especially east/west. Or if we become a bunch of pussies and grovel at the great orange menace's feet.

Well, US doesn't necessarily *need* our oil. They are the world largest oil producer and it's ahead of Canada by a big margin. (13M BBL/day vs. 5.5BBL/day). If anything, Canadian oils are attractive because we have pipe going down and it's cheap. But as some already mentioned, without AB's support, it's hard to do anything on that topic.
Our trade volume, although similar in absolute numbers, it's got far more weight on Canada than the US. US accounts for over 60% of our total trade, while we are only a tad under 15% of US total trade.
We have a lot more to lose than US if trade just suddenly stops completely. It wrecks havoc in Canada but might make a slight dent in US but nothing US can't work around.
