Yeah, Ukraine has done a number on Russia that's for sure. I hope you're right, but Zelensky makes the point that the Ukrainian armed forces is larger than all of the EU armed forces put together.
If the US pulls out of NATO, there is no more NATO. If the US pulls troops out of Europe (which Trump is saying they will do [edit: but as of a few hours ago have now back tracked]), then what?
The Polish PiS (Right wing, pro-russia) party is actively trying to push out the current president via the courts. And if you believe Anne Applebaum, the PiS were very close to cementing in an autocratic state only a few years ago. If they come back, then what? No one will be able to effectively go help the baltics and I don't think Moldova is going to have much stopping power.
edit: Obviously this is very speculative. But it's a real enough threat that the EU leaders (not delegates) are holding emergency in person meetings to discuss it (with success in Ukraine being the best solution).
